has been a leading Spanish firm in the maritime industry since it was founded in 1956.
Our business is mainly oriented towards the shipping agency, stevedoring, trucking and cargo logistics.
UMESA
has been pioneer in the container maritime transportation
in Spain starting its activity as shipping agent in
the fifties when it was appointed general agent in Spain
of Isbrandtsen and later of American Export Lines, which
offered a regular service between U.S.A and Spain. Since
then has connected the main Spanish ports with the rest
of the world representing first-class domestic and international
shipownwers. (Isbrandtsen,
American Export Lines, Farrell Lines, Ciamar, Portline,
Reefer Express Line…)
Today UMESA
offers regular services from the main Spanish ports to USA,
Canada, Far East, India, Pakistan,
Mediterranean, South America, Central America, Australia, Africa, Northern Europe and the Caribbean.
In addition to our main activity as shipping agents,
UMESA is fully involved through several owned and shared
companies in other shipping-related areas such as:
